Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D, President and COO of MWH Soft, has been named to the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council's (NRC) Committee on Public Water Distribution Systems: Assessing and Reducing Risks. Boulos was nominated by the NRC's Water Science and Technology Board (WSTB) to serve as the expert on water distribution system modeling.

The goal of the Committee's two-year study for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) is to help federal, state, and local governments, the water supply industry, and other stakeholders to assess and mitigate public health concerns posed by deterioration of water quality in distribution systems. Tasks will include prioritizing issues of greatest concern; evaluating potential public health risk and defining risk indicators; and formulating actions, policies, guidance, and research activities to lessen these risks.
