As President and Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Boulos oversees the company’s worldwide operations and strategic directions from MWH Soft Corporate headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado. During his nine-year tenure in this role, MWH Soft has experienced impressive growth and returns. The company has increased its net revenues tenfold, its backlog 200 fold and its operating income by a factor of 31. Professionally, Dr. Boulos is one of the world’s foremost experts on water resources engineering, acclaimed for his practical and scientific expertise and his extensive experience in both academe and the corporate world. A Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (F.ASCE), Dr. Boulos is a leading global authority on drinking water distribution engineering, from hydraulics to water quality principles. He has authored nine authoritative books and more than 100 technical articles on water and wastewater engineering, and has received numerous honors from national and international scientific and engineering societies as well as government and research organizations and NGOs. Among them are technical awards for excellence in scholarship from the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Water Works Association and the US Environmental Protection Agency. He was also inducted into the University of Kentucky College of Engineering Hall of Distinction, the most prestigious honor given by the university to its alumni, and was awarded Honorary Diplomate (Hon.D.WRE) status by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE), becoming one of only sixteen distinguished engineering professionals worldwide ever to receive AAWRE’s highest honor. He was also awarded the Ray R. Irani Pride of Heritage Award from the Lebanese American Foundation, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, and Special US Congressional Recognition for his outstanding and invaluable service to the community.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of both MWH Global and MWH Soft, Dr. Boulos chairs the Board of International Advisors and is an Ex-Officio Trustee of the Lebanese American University (Beirut, Lebanon). He also serves on the Board of Directors of AMIDEAST (Washington D.C.), the Dean’s International Council at the Harris School of Public Policy Studies, the University of Chicago (Chicago, IL), the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers, and the National Association of GIS-Centric Software (NAGCS). Dr. Boulos also served on the External Advisory Board of the Civil and Environmental Engineering School of the American University of Beirut (Beirut, Lebanon), as well as on many advisory committees for organizations including the US EPA Science Advisory Board and the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council. |
