Mpact donates R96, 200 to the SPCA and Hospice

01 July 2013

On Thursday 27 June at its offices in Tulisa Park, Mpact Recycling, part of the Mpact Group, handed over a cheque to the SPCA (Johannesburg, Ekhuruleni, Pretoria, and Centurion) and Hospice (Witwatersrand, Pretoria, Centurion) for R96, 200. This forms part of Mpact Recycling’s office paper pick-up programme, which provides a collection service to offices in Gauteng and across South Africa.

“Money raised from the paper collected through the office pick-up programme is donated to SPCA and Hospice. This is our way of giving back and helping support the work of these community-based organisations,” says Alan de Haas.

“It is always rewarding to be able to give back to organisations that make such valuable contributions to society, and we wish to thank those businesses which participated in the office pick-up programme for making the donations possible. We hope to encourage more businesses to get involved in recycling, not only for the good of the environment, but also to support an industry that provides jobs to over 30,000 people.”

SPCA Johannesburg said they would be using this money to support their Outreach Education Programme for underprivileged animal owners, while Hospice Wits plans to put the money towards raising funds for their programmes that address malnourishment.
